SUMMER DRESS OF DREAMS

Flights booked ready for half term, a smidgen of sunshine and the hunt for summer dresses is on.

If I'm honest I don't really need anything for the holiday, with a wardrobe at the farm it means that every summer I get to wear old favourites that I don't get to see whilst in blighty. It's always nice to have a few new ones though, swap some old ones out, get rid of some that are looking tired and grab a dress that I take with but bring home to wear back in the UK.

With a busy day of London appointments, I reckoned I had five minutes to have a quick walk through &otherstories and boy it didn't disappoint.

You have no idea how delighted I am that the cross front dress has made a come back this spring / summer season. Last year I spotted it in store and then went online and bought three sizes to make sure I got the fitting right, after all that effort it was pretty true to size.

It is truly feminine with an exposed back ( i still wear a strapless bra but push the back strap low) Cross detail at the front, on trend midi length and it really accentuates the waist. (waist strap is attached you can tie front or back) Same dress, different print - it is one dress that everyone comments and is really versatile, day dress with sparkly trainers, heels / wedges and a throw on jacket for Regatta/Wedding.

Driven by the gypsy in me I'm drawn to boho inspired white dresses (usually the bloody expensive ones Chloe, Isabel Marant, Loveshackfancy) Detail is everything with this midi dress, more calf length on me - I'm 5ft 3in, its true white (not antique white), with scalloped hemlines, palm tree embroidery and yes the icing on the cake, POCKETS. Waist panels accentuates the waist creating a feminine line. Get the Vanish ready this is going to be worn on repeat.

With pretty bird and flower embroidery this photo does not do this dress justice. It is really beautiful in the shop, again pure white not antique white and its a floaty short beach to drinks dress without the see through nature of some of the other high street versions. Just add a bikini. Embroidered Cotton Dress

Always on the look out for designs inspired by Skandi brand Ganni, this floral maxi length dress with its cinched waist and elbow length sleeves make it an easy transitional dress for any occasion.
